Select Countries

Once the tool opens:

1. Look for the "Country" dropdown menu on the left.
2. Type and select your case studies (e.g., United Kingdom, United States, Hungary).

Step 2: Add Variables

Key Indicators

Copy these codes into the "Indicators" search box:

Vertical Accountability Index (The main measure) Distinct Party Platforms (Are choices distinct?) Clean Elections Index (Is the vote rigged?)

Step 3: Analyze

How to Read It

The Scale (0 to 1):
values below 0.5 indicate a breakdown in accountability.

The Gap:
If Clean Elections is high but Distinct Platforms is low, you have "Elections without Choice" (The Hollow Vote).
